Bronze on rusted steel base - 11x11x14cm

This unique sculpture is made up of two thin bronze sphere sections with a gap between them, mounted on a rusted steel base. This was inspired by rusty sea mines and was cast to partially fill the mold, giving interesting and organic edges as if the object has eroded over time. It uses the unusual combination of a polished bronze form with the contrasting colour and texture of rusted steel.

The cast bronze features are unique casts, patinated blue, green, yellow and white with the tips of the spikes and edges polished back to the metal (gold coloured). It sits on a welded rusted steel base which has been sealed and varnished to prevent further rusting. The base has felt on it to prevent it from scratching any surfaces.

Suitable for indoor use only, but can be placed in full sun.
