Bronze in painted wood frame - 20x20x5cm

Unique sculpture in cast bronze in a black painted wooden frame. Inspired by maps and showing an incomplete view of a map or landscape. This represents the partial nature of what we notice when we are out in the landscape; we don’t see everything and remember even less.

The bronze is cast thin and only partially fills when pouring the bronze. This gives organic holes through the piece which looks like the landscape is dissolving or decaying. This means that although a mold was used, each piece is different and unrepeatable.

The cast bronze feature is patinated blue, white and yellow with the raised boundary feature lines polished back to the metal (gold coloured). There is a fitting on the back to hang this piece on a nail or screw, with rubber buffers to raise it off the wall. Bronze care instructions are also affixed to the back.

Suitable for indoor use only, but can be hung in full sun.
