Buzzing Skipton

'Buzzing Skipton' was a project run by Skipton BID and The Artery and Supported by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire and funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority. It centred around the replacement of planters around Skipton and filling them with native plants. Workshops were run for people to help with the planting as well as poetry and photography workshops linked to them.

My part was to produce a public sculpture for the town, produced in collaboration with workshop participants.

I ran four workshop sessions, two with members of the public, one with Stepping Stones and one with SELFA. In these sessions participants decorated wooden butterflies. These were then cast into bronze and assembled into a kaleidoscope of butterflies above the railings outside Craven Arts House in Skipton.
